The Housing Executive is now recruiting for an Assistant Director – Project Delivery to join their team.

Location: Housing Centre, Belfast

Job Summary

In this role you will assist the Director of Asset Management in delivering an effective and efficient asset management service.

You will be responsible for leading a diverse team of over 200 in-house technical staff, external consultants and contractors in delivering the NIHE investment programme, which is circa £150-200 million per annum. This includes capital/revenue, planned and cyclical works which is designed to ensure the long-term sustainability of NIHE assets.

This is a challenging role, but offers the unique chance to shape the NIHE housing assets working collaboratively across the business and with residents to deliver excellent services to residents and develop a high performing team.

Essential Criteria

  1. Possess a minimum of a degree level qualification (Level 6) in a relevant subject e.g. construction or built environment AND Membership of a relevant Professional Body at Chartered Level e.g. RICS, CIOB, RIBA
  2. Have at least 3 years’ relevant experience at senior management level within construction environment
  3. Can demonstrate significant relevant experience in the following areas:
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, projects and programmes of work to defined and agreed targets and priorities whilst delivering excellent customer service
  • Significant knowledge and experience of delivering planned investment programmes
  • Delivering significant change and improvement to meet challenging objectives
  • Proven ability leading a multi-disciplinary team and providing efficient management and accountability
  1. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contract management, dispute resolution and its application in meeting delivery of projects and programmes
  2. Can demonstrate;
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Negotiating and influencing skills at a senior level
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex information to a range of audiences
  • Interpreting and analysing data and reports in order to understand and improve performance
  • Strong personal resilience
  • Fairness, good governance, ethical and professional practice
  1. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that will permit the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full
