Your new role

The post holder will provide support to the School senior management team and Project Coordinator to ensure that their work stream of programmes are managed effectively. The post holder may be required to provide personal support to some team members as needed to:

  • Provide high quality day to day administrative and secretarial support for the School of Pharmacy & Medicines Optimisation (‘the School’) team.
  • Work across health and social care boundaries; primary and secondary care pharmacy employers, Trusts, HE/FE institutions/training providers and other key stakeholders, in order to support the School in the development of practice education for the medicines and pharmacy workforce across the north.
  • Provide day to day cover for the Project Co-Ordinator. The Project Administrator will work within the School of Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation team providing support to team members and external stakeholders, in developing and implementing key programmes and projects to enable a flexible, productive and affordable healthcare workforce that meets the needs of patients and changing care pathways and the values set out in the NHS Constitution. The post holder will ensure that efficient administrative support is provided to enable the team to function effectively

  • Management of electronic diaries including arranging and changing appointments, making judgments in relation to the priority of these appointments as appropriate
  • Provide secretariat support for meetings. This includes the production and distribution of agendas, minutes, paperwork, organising meetings and booking meeting resources. Arrange venues for events as necessary


What you'll need to succeed

  • Good keyboard skills and good use of IT systems and software.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy work environment and able information; takes pride and has integrity in everything that we do and to multi-task.
  • Effective team working responsibility and accountability for actions and behaviours.
  • Minute taking and effective meeting practice.
  • Clear communicator with excellent writing, data entry and Essential presentation skills. Capable of constructing and delivering clear information / instructions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and trust
  • Professional and calm
  • Able to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising own and others workload to work towards tight deadlines
  • Positive and flexible approach to work
