This post will provide an active role in managing and coordinating policy and programme work within the Medical Research industry to support the health-related components under the Global Collaboration theme
- Use evidence-based approach and analytical thinking to contribute to the to the implementation and delivery of MRC activities within the global collaborations theme of the alternatives programme.
- Provide detailed project management support for international activities to ensure successful preparation for and delivery of the HEA portfolio alongside existing and future commitments outside of HEA. Ensure wider business and medical research policy and strategic requirements are incorporated into the HEA programme design and policy as required, and contribute to the shaping of business /MR policies and processes to ensure international delivery mechanisms reflect developing policies/principles/positions e.g. Trusted Research and Innovation, Equality Diversity and Inclusion, ODA compliance and safeguarding etc. Also considering the Simple Better Funding Service.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including central and other colleagues.
- Contribute to the broader alternatives programme planning activities across the business, ensuring MR requirements and specific health-related interests are fully represented
- Prepare briefings and provide updates, information and advice on MR international and company alternatives activities to senior management, other delivery partners, the R&I community (both UK and international), and UK Government departments as appropriate.
- Work with the International Analysis and Evaluation team and the MR Evaluation team on the development of monitoring, evaluation, learning requirements, systems, and processes in relation to the programme.
- Contribute to the wider work of MRCInternational, supporting and covering work of colleagues as required needing to work on alternatives.
