Finance Manager

Working for an SEN School in the Hillingdon Area, with fantastic transport links available including central line 15 mins walks and also parking available on site.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

-Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of all financial records including the input of income and expense onto the FMS financial system, oversee petty cash transactions and ordering of goods and services.
- Be responsible, for the Headteacher and the Governors for the preparation and review of the school’s 3-year financial budget.
- Prepare and monitor the annual school budget, reconciling income and expenditure, advising on any budgetary considerations and solutions to queries and producing monthly budgetary forecast reports for submission to the Principal for the consideration of the governors.
- You will be responsible for all banking procedures, the security of the school credit/debit card(s), cheques and monthly reconciliation of the school bank accounts.
- You will need to see invoices, statements of accounts and cheque payments and be able to place orders and pay bills from the school’s fund in the event of the finance officers being absent.
- Be responsible for the management of the school’s payroll and monitor calculations of salaries including statutory payments, pension payments, Inland Revenue and national insurance data.
- Identify income streams, grants and fund raising opportunities. Investigate new funding opportunities and prepare bids for approval by the whole SLT and Governors/Trustees.
-To perform duties with minimal reference to Principal to agreed timetables and deadlines.
-To work according to the financial regulations and guidelines laid down by the school and their accountants.
-To share duties to ensure the smooth running of the finance function over the various peaks of activity in the school year. To mentor and provide support to less experienced members of the team sharing gained knowledge. Provide advice on finance issues.

What is Required for the Role
-Experience working as School Business Manager or Finance Assistant
-Valid DBS or DBS Update Service
-Knowledge of accounting procedures
