Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a Housing Association based in Belfast, to recruit a Development Compliance Officer who will join the Development team on a permanent basis.

Our client is an established and growing Housing Association who are working hard to provide suitable homes for tenants and actively increasing their stock across Northern Ireland.

Your new role
You will provide an efficient defects management and property compliance process and offer administrative and organisational support within the Development Department. This will include:

Undertaking snagging and quality inspections in conjunction with the Association’s Clerk of Works, Contractors and the Association’s design team;
Correlating all information required for the handover of schemes, managing the handover process and ensuring the Association are in receipt of a satisfactory Health & Safety File and all statutory certification prior to property allocation;
Ensuring that all project completion documentation required by the Association is received promptly and that statutory compliance is achieved in advance of property allocation;
Managing the process for dealing with defects, including carrying out ‘End of Defects’ inspections, tenant and contractor liaison during the Defects Period and final scheme sign-off;
Ensuring the accurate and timely logging of repairs and defects, working closely with the Contractors to ensure these are closed out promptly.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position you must possess:

A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) with 2 years+ relevant experience in a construction/ property role;
A sound technical / construction knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and assess building and services defects and oversee the defects rectification process;
A working knowledge of statutory regulations relevant to new build development and refurbishment works; Experience in defects / repairs management and troubleshooting’ Administration experience;
Experience of report writing, diary management and organisational admin.
