Management Accountant

YOUR NEW ROLE

The Management Accountant is required to ensure accurate month end reporting for the Swansea finance function, also to make sure quarterly, half year and year end reporting deadlines are adhered too. Liaising and resolving any queries with the shared service centre accounting team and manage the day-to-day running of the finance function. Review and update standard costs and transfer prices and prepare detailed profitability and Cost analysis for the factory in Swansea.

  • Co-ordination of month end, half year and year end accounting processes. Including the reconciliations.
  • Completing the half year and year end standard reporting pack
  • Support SOX compliance work
  • Provide detailed financial analysis of the monthly results and articulate the storyline for monthly reporting.
  • Act as Business Partner to the senior management team to discuss actual spend to budgets (cost centre analysis)
  • Support supply chain with stock control, ageing and NRV analysis
  • Review and update of standard costs and transfer prices
  • Profitability % Cost Analysis by customer, product group and product
  • Assist with the annual budget building and reporting
  • Assist Shared Service Centre with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Liaising with and resolving internal and external auditor queries
  • Liaising with internal and external tax teams (including VAT)
  • Working with the Capex Project owners to prepare capital project requests for sign off
  • Maintenance/ set up of fixed assets and tracking of spend to ensure that projects stay within budget
  • Controlling the setup of new vendors, customers and SAP requests
  • Deputise for the Financial Controller when required

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Qualified Accountant or Finalist or high calibre QBE Accountant
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to challenge and question
  • Strong IT skills. A good working knowledge of spreadsheet packages is essential.
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is preferable but not essential
  • Experience of working in a SAP environment is desirable – again not essential
