Hays Senior Finance are working with a growing and successful manufacturing and R&D business based just outside Chester. This site forms part of a wider UK Group of companies with inter-connected products and common goals. They have significant financial backing and large growth plans for 2023.

As the Management Accountant you will work as part of a small Finance team reporting directly to the Financial Controller. You will be accountable for the delivery of timely, accurate and analytical financial information to both Group and the site deadlines.

Your responsibilities

• Producing monthly profit and loss accounts and balance sheets by department and revenue centres for Financial Controller review.
• Ensuring all balance sheets control accounts are reconciled at month end.
• Creating and posting all required monthly and ad-hoc journals.
• Monitoring the daily cash position and preparing weekly cash flow forecasts for review.
• Managing debtor’s balance and ensuring credit control is efficient and effective.
• Managing creditor’s balance, creating and posting bank payments.
• Managing the preparation of the year-end accounts including completion of the audit file.
• Assisting in preparing budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Reviewing and checking the monthly payroll from the payroll bureau, including year end and P11D returns.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Producing monthly KPIs.
• Assisting in the processing of capex requests.
• Assisting in the compiling of data for the R&D tax credit claim.

This is a broad role which touches all departments and interacts at all levels. The business has modern offices and invests heavily into new equipment.
