Your new role

This role supports the Head of Legal and Governance and the successful applicant will be required to provide the Senior Management Team and other colleagues with sound procurement advice to ensure best practice is followed, mitigating risk where appropriate. You may also be expected to manage other projects.

• Providing timely and comprehensive procurement advice on issues including queries from staff, trustees, consultants and service providers.
• Managing procurement processes, working with colleagues to ensure projects are properly budgeted and authorised in accordance with the scheme of delegation and policies, and managed in a timely way through to award and signing of contract.
• Managing meetings and pipeline of work in relation to the procurement board.
• Reviewing and updating procurement and purchasing policies and processes as required.
• Ensuring proportionate due diligence processes are in place and carried out in all procurements.
• Reviewing and updating standard procurement documents, including standard contracts, and negotiating contracts for specific procurements.
• Routinely reviewing the purchasing requirements and introducing arrangements which reduce ‘off contract’ expenditure.

What you'll need to succeed

• Procurement qualification fully or part-qualified
• Proven track record of providing accurate and effective procurement advice
• Experience of managing procurement projects and negotiating contracts
• Good understanding of procurement principles and contract law.
• Excellent MS Office IT skills
