Finance Manager

Hays Senior Finance are working on behalf of a leading public sector body to appoint a Finance Manager. This is a leadership role managing the day-to-day operations of the finance function. Based in Edinburgh with remote working options available, our client have a prestigious reputation and excellent Culture offering the Finance Manager a flexible, friendly and engaging working environment.
The Finance Manager will report to the Head of Finance and will lead a team of 2 non qualified finance staff. Offering a varied and progressive environment, the Finance Manager will make an impact of day to day and strategic projects including the development of a new finance system.

Your new role
You will be responsible for the smooth running of the finance team and delivering day to day management of 2 finance staff. You will offer best practice and insight to improve processes across the transactional function in addition to budgeting, forecasting, planning and analysis. You will have ownership of month-end tasks, supporting the year-end cycle and management reporting including budgeting information across the whole organisation.
Supporting the head of finance, you will support the delivery of board papers and committee information whilst managing the team, workload and reviewing processes and procedures. This is a collaborative role and will involve engaging with a variety of business stakeholders to support with organisational objectives.
What you'll need to succeed
As a Finance Manager you will be a natural people person with an analytical approach to enhance operations. Experience in a similar role would be valuable with a financial qualification or part qualification highly desired. You will have strong communication skills with experience in a hands on environment and a continuous improvement approach.

Our client offer a competitive package from a basic salary of up to £45,000 with a bonus of up to 7%. You will have a 4% employer contribution pension scheme with 39 days holiday and great flexibility on your working location.
