Corniche Construction Ltd are a growing family run SME based in Crawley, West Sussex, we cover the South East. The work we carry out is extremely varied with project range currently as high as currently circa £2.0m. They can include anything from new build and large commercial extensions to maintenance and refurbishment projects. We enjoy a very loyal Client base which is expanding. We have some direct labour and operate under our own version of IiP with a competency framework we have evolved, which is used to ensure employee development and engagement.

Your new role

Due to organic growth, we are now looking for an experienced Operations Manager for the business as a long-term employee to assist and be part of that growth.

The Operations Manager is one of the most senior members of staff, responsible for the effective and efficient running of all projects throughout the delivery, ensuring projects are planned, programmed and delivered on time and to the satisfaction of the client and his professional team with respect to quality, safety, environmental impact and budget. You will agree and set project targets with the Contracts Manager, and ensure progress is measured regularly and feedback provided through the Company reporting procedures. This is a broad brief job and not a typical 8-5 job. You will be required to fully apply yourself to the job and take charge, going above and beyond to meet and exceed our client’s expectations.

You will:

  • Manage and support the production of a fully resourced Construction programme established from the tender programme.
  • Monitor progress and update the programme as required by the Contract.
  • Build, develop, and support the team.
  • Represent the Company and enhance its reputation.
  • To be a champion for improving H&S and Quality performance.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Extensive experience of working on new build & refurbishment projects
  • Proven technical and Project Management abilities
  • Strong organisational and Management skills
  • Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM Regulations
  • Knowledge of the requirements Standard Building Contract – JCTMW, IFC, NEC(not essential but advantageous)
  • Ability to produce Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, and implement safe systems of work
