My client is a growing organisation that are approaching their 4th year of trading. During this time they have gone from strength to strength increasing profitability and turnover. The organisation have a strong background in developing and delivering high end lodges and residential dwellings for a range of industry clients. Previous projects have included large 150+ unit development and bespoke lower volume sites. My client are actively seeking a candidate with a commercial background to join them on a permanent basis in an Assistant Estimator position.
Your new role
This role is not a traditional estimating position. Due to the company structure you will be involved in the roll out of software which will reshape the way the company functions on a daily basis. You will be involved in compiling valuations and producing bills of quantities. You will also be reviewing supply chain, sourcing for materials and suppliers and helping to shape the procurement side of the business. You will be actively involved in the planning and delivery of materials to site and considering storage requirements.
Owing to the nature of works an understanding of Associated civils services, Storm and Waste Water, Pumping stations, Road and pathways, driveway/ car parks and soft or hard landscaping would be an advantage.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this role you will have an understanding of the pre-construction process focusing on the aforementioned areas. As this position is with a growing organisation the successful candidate will want to have in input into company procedures with a view to reducing cost and providing a better commercial return. You will also be able to work autonomously for part of the week and within a small team at other times. As occasional site visits will be required a full UK driving license is needed. This position is open to junior candidates with a desire to succeed and learn. The company are also prepared to invest in formal qualifications to aid development.

This position is open to a range of experience levels as such the pay bracket will depend on each candidate. However the organisation are looking at between £18k to £30k as a benchmark.
