Recruiter: Leicester College
Director of Estates & Campus Services, Leicester College
We are one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with more than 20,000 students studying with us on a broad range of courses. Our mission is to ‘equip people with the skills they need to be successful in education, in work and business and in their personal lives’.
Reporting to the Deputy Principal for Finance and Corporate Services, your brief as the Director for Estates and Campus Services is wide-ranging and challenging. You will lead the development and implementation of an estates strategy which will provide first class facilities and accommodation for teaching and learning across 3 main campuses and 7 outreach centres.
A key aspect of the role will be to work closely with directors and senior managers, looking ahead to curriculum developments and taking account of the financial and policy environment, to plan and put in place changes to accommodation and the estate which meet the College’s needs.
You will also oversee the effective operational management of a number of key College services: facilities (including cleaning), maintenance, health and safety, security, catering, transport and car parking. It is important that these services are delivered effectively and efficiently with high standards of customer care within a safe and welcoming environment.
You must have vision and drive coupled with a successful track record leading a diverse team within a corporate services environment. As a resilient manager, your ability to deliver improvement to the estate, accommodation and services is as important as your skills in planning and developing strategy.
With strong influencing and networking skills, you will be comfortable working with a wide range of managers and other stakeholders, including governors.
You will hold an appropriate Estate/Construction degree or equivalent along with significant experience managing a buildings portfolio and facilities operation, including managing major projects, together with skills and knowledge in procurement, tendering, lease agreements and estates contracts.
