We're excited to be working with an organisation in Cambridge who are looking to recruit an Estates Contracts Manager on a permanent basis. You'll be joining a small yet experienced team who are passionate and driven to provide an excellent estates and facilities service. Based in central Cambridge, you'll be a short walk from both the train station and the City Centre.
Your new role
As the Estates Contracts Manager you'll be working with the Head of Assets to develop and manage a scheduled maintenance programme of works, including Preventative Maintenance and statutory compliance, across the estate. You'll specify, procure and manage contractors to provide a range of maintenance services such as; gas combustion, HVAC, fire systems, automatic doors and lifts. The Estates Contracts Manager will be capable of creating specifications, tendering to public sector standards; managing the contractors work through KPI's where relevant and managing the contractors health and safety standards when on site.
What you'll need to succeed
The client is looking for somebody with good technical engineering knowledge that is looking to move into a management position. You would be working with a range of specialist contractors that deal primarily with mechanical and electrical works. We're looking for somebody that is curious and tenacious, that wouldn't be afraid to query and to challenge how things are done. The Contracts Manager will be someone who is passionate about applying their theoretical knowledge to ensure the best outcome is arrived at.
As this role manages much of the estates compliance, the Estates Contracts Manager will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent, will ideally have an engineering qualification and be able to demonstrate competence. A background in Estates, Facilities, Property and Contracts Management will be highly beneficial. Experience of working with a multi-site portfolio whilst specifying and tendering works, then managing and reporting on contractor performance will also be important.
