One of the UK’s most inspiring and best known faith-based organisations, the Salvation Army, is looking for a Maintenance Surveyor to deliver a repairs & maintenance service to our diverse portfolio of Church, commercial, residential, social and community buildings.
Assisting in the delivery of a responsive repairs service, you will also deliver a Cyclical Planned Maintenance Programme. You will undertake Access Audits in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, carry out site inspections, diagnose defects, prepare specifications, tender, appoint contractors and oversee works including quality and financial management.
A property professional with a relevant qualification (RICS, CIOB or similar), you will have a proven record of maintenance inspections, defect diagnosis and repair management to occupied buildings, especially residential.
You’ll be a confident communicator, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service, able to build strong client relationships and work on your own initiative while also proactively communicating with, and providing a service to, other members of the property team around the UK. A working knowledge of The Equality Act, CDM Regulations and building related regulations and best practice is essential.
The post is peripatetic in nature so although you will be based at home, you will be covering Hertfordshire and Essex with some travel required throughout East Anglia. There is a requirement to travel regularly to the Bishops Stortford Service Centre which is a main office hub.
