An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full-Time Estates Officer at East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadets Association office, located close to Chelmsford city centre.

As a public sector organisation with Crown status, we are looking for an organised individual with excellent numeracy and literacy skills, who is computer literate and able to learn new systems quickly and work with the minimum of supervision. Good communication and inter-personal skills are required.

Range of tasks includes:

  • Assist with compilation and submission of Short Term Plans for capital Works and Property Management.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the works services and FM programmes.
  • Obtain planning permission, Building Regulations and other approvals for all minor new building works.
  • Evaluate and authorise contractor’s invoice accounts.

The successful candidate will either be professionally qualified as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building or hold other allied professional recognition in the provision of estate and construction (or is demonstrably working towards such a qualification), or have experience in PM for new build and major refurbishment and knowledge of or experience of government estate work.

This post is for 42 hours per week including lunch breaks. This position attracts a current salary of £31,136 pa. Additional benefits include a generous defined benefit pension scheme, annual leave of 25 days plus public holidays (rising to 30 days after 5 years of service) and free on-site parking.
