Location: 21 Poplar Road, Solihull, West Midlands, B91 3AD

Are you a surveyor who can deliver efficient surveying services while maintaining a good attention to detail? Can you use AutoCAD and feel confident using other IT databases? We are currently looking for a building stock condition surveyor to complement our existing Operational team.

We are a forward thinking Council and against a backdrop of financial austerity we continue to develop our commercially focused approach to optimising our services.

We have developed unique UK wide partnership contracts with Dodd Group, Graham FM and Lift and Engineering Services Ltd to deliver a full scope of building and engineering facilities management solutions including reactive, compliance and asset management, minor and planned works projects.

This important role will involve delivering a rolling programme of condition surveys, the outcomes of which will inform future programmes of work, identify backlog maintenance, identify priorities for Asset Management Plans, support investment programmes and funding bids, and support strategic asset management planning. You will also report the outcomes of your surveys directly to Customers and assist them with professional advice.

You will need a HNC in Building (or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate equivalent extended experience. Experience and knowledge in diagnosing faults and judging the life expectancy of building elements, as well as experience of producing managing and monitoring work programmes is also essential. Great communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are also crucial.

In return, we offer employees a great working environment, together with a range of flexible working options, access to our Employee Assistance Programme (a 24 hour independent, free and confidential advice and support service), attractive staff discounts and a career average pension scheme.
